Explosive parts and firearms seized in Bengal

Malda, Oct 17 (UNI) A huge cache of explosive substances, grenade parts and inflammatory Maoist literature were recovered from an abandoned box in a pond at Bamungola in the district today.

Several plastic containers and materials for making grenade were seized after breaking open a steel trunk during a raid, Superintendent of Police Dilip Kumar Mondal said.

Maoist documents was also recovered from the box, he said.

None had been arrested so far in this connecton, he added.

The area was supposed to be the den of the Maoists and the Kamtapuri People's Party (KPP) activists, Mr Mondal informed.
