DMRC gets Building Industry Leadership Award

New Delhi, Oct 17 (UNI) Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has bagged the 'Building Industry Leadership Awards' in the infrastructure category from the Builder Information Bureau.

The awards were given away in 18 categories such as Lifetime Achievement, Builder/Developer, Real Estate Media, Architect, Development Authority, Construction.

''These awards recognise those big barons of the industry who have earned name and fame through their focused vision, dedication and outstanding accomplishments,'' BIB Executive Director Jagmohan Singh told reporters here.

Mr Singh said that the institute has advised the Government to pay heed towards the low-cost housing for the middle and lower middle class people.

The awards were presented by the Union Minister of State for Industry Ashwini Kumar.

The Lifetime Achievement award was conferred on Hafeez Contractor, while the Builder/Developers award an DLF Group.

Former Union Minister of Urban Development Bhisham Narain Singh, Former CBI Director Joginder Singh, Construction Federation of India Secretary General S C Mehta were some of the dignitaries present on the occasion.

BIB was set up in 1987 and has over 200 members presently. It is leading voice for commercial real estate in Delhi representing companies involved with the development, ownership and financing of commercial properties as well as companies providing services to this industry.
