DMK leads in TN bypoll

Madurai, Tamil Nadu Oct 17 (UNI) S S Ghouse Basha of ruling DMK is leading by over 13,000 votes against his nearest AIADMK rival V V Rajan Chellappa at the end of six rounds of counting for the October 11 Madurai Central Assembly by election, here today.

The bypoll was necessitated following the death of senior DMK leader and Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowment Minister P T R Palanivel Rajan on May 20.
