Cutberts to start Textile Processing Plant in Bidadi

Bangalore, Oct 17 (UNI) Cutberts Textiles India Private Limited will set up a Textile Processing Plant in Bidadi, about 40 km from here, at a cost of Rs 110 crore.

The new plant, to be inaugurated by Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy on October 20, would adopt modern technology to produce 40 tonnes of fabric per day.

Talking to newspersons here, Cutberts Textiles Chairman Satbinder Singh Lail, an India-born UK businessman, said ''the new plant at Bidadi is an ultra modern fabric processing facility for knitting, yarn, dyeing, printing and finishing. It has the latest and fully automated lab dispenser system.'' The plant would have fully equipped chemical and physical labs of international standard, he added.

Mr Lail, born in Punjab, said Karnataka was selected for the company's expansion since the State Government invited it to solve unemployment problem in rural areas. The company at present had a turnover of Rs 175 crore and it was targeted to achieve Rs 500 crore within the next three years.

He said there was also a proposal to set up five factories near Bidadi. As part of its social responsibility, the company proposed to set up a School for Orphans near Bidadi.
