Criminal complaint filed against Farooq Abdullah
Chandgarh, Oct 17 (UNI) Levelling charges of ''sedition and criminal intimidation against former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Dr Farooq Abdullah, a local BJP leader today filed a criminal complaint'' against the National Conference leader in a court here.
The criminal complaint was filed in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Y S Rathore under sections 121, 124 A, 506 of the IPC which amounted to ''sedition, raging a war against the country and criminal intimidation''.
The complaint has been filed by local BJP leader and lawyer Ms Ranjana Shahi, quoting Dr Farooq Abdullah as saying in a news item that ''the nation will go up in flames if Mohammad Afzal is hanged''. Dr Abdullah was also quoted in the news item that a judge, Maqbool Bhatt, had been shot by the militants after he announced a capital punishment to a Kashmiri militant.
The complaint will be heard by the Chief Judsicial Magistrate tomorrow.
