Conspiracy in ex-cop's 'accident,' says daughter
Kochi, Oct 17 (UNI) Days after DIC (K) Leader and former Kerala Chief Minister K Karunakaran blamed former Police official Laxmanan for the 'disappearance' of engineering student P Rajan during the Emergency, the latter was injured in a collision here with his daughter today alleging ''people with vested interest'' were behind the incident.
Mr Laxmanan, whose car collided with a lorry last night, has been admitted to the Lakeshore Hospital here with a hip dislocation.
Talking to mediapersons, his daughter Sangeeta alleged the incident was ''instigated by people with vested interests. '' Police said here a case was registered and investigation underway. The lorry driver had been arrested.
Just two days ago, Mr Karunakaran, who was the State Home Minister during the Emergency, claimed former DGP Jayaram Padikkal and DIG Laxmanan were behind the 'disappearance' of Regional Engineering College Student P Rajan, which had snowballed into a major controversy.
Rajan was alleged to have been tortured to death by police though his body was never found.
