Conditions favourable for North East Monsoon

Chennai, Oct 17 (UNI) With the withdrawal of South West Monsoon from the entire nation today the conditions became favourable for the onset of the Nort East Monsoon over Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, Kerala and adjoining parts of Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka during the next two to three days, the meteorological department said.

A special bulletin here said under its influence, rain or thundershowers were likely to occur at many places over Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, Kerala and adjoining parts of Andhra Pradesh during the next two to three days. Isolated heavy rain were also likely over Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry during the next 48 hours.

The city and its suburbs will experience generally cloudy skies with possibility of shower or thundershowers in some areas, the bulletin reported.
