City court convicts person in murder case

Hyderabad, Oct 17 (UNI) A local court today convicted a person in connection with the sensational murder of a businessman in 2001 here.

The Metropolitan Sessions Judge convicted Mayankbora, who kidnapped Mr Dolisen Surana, a prominent businessman and his wife Manjula on December 31, 2001 in the heart of the city. He stabbed Mr Surana to death and severely injured his wife, who later managed to escape.

The Judge will pass the sentence tomorrow.

According to the prosecution, Mayankbora was arrested immediately after the crime but escaped from police custody in April 2003.

Police finally traced him to Jharkhand this year and arrested him.
