Cisco Systems India appoints new India marketing head

New Delhi, Oct 17 (UNI) Cisco Systems, the global leader in networking for the internet, today announced the appointment of Amit Sinha Roy as Vice President-Marketing for India&SAARC region.

Mr Roy takes over from Ranajoy Punja, who moves on to his new role as the VP, Business Development - Advanced Technologies, Cisco Systems, India&SAARC. Mr Punja will be heading the technology group responsible for driving and accelerating sales for Cisco's Advanced Technologies in India and SAARC.

Mr Roy brings with him over sixteen years of global sales and marketing experience in the Asia Pacific and US geographies. Prior to joining Cisco, he was heading various marketing functions at Hewlett Packard (India, APAC&Japan), Syntel (US), Compaq India and HCL India.

''Amit has significant marketing experience in the US and APAC markets. I am confident that his strong blend of technology and marketing skills in global markets will be a tremendous asset to driving Cisco's presence in the region,'' Cisco Systems India&SAARC Interim President David Caspari said.
