Brinda criticises Modi govt over anti-conversion bill
Ahmedabad, Oct 17: CPI(M) Polit Bureau member Brinda Karat today criticised the Narendra Modi government in Gujrat over the controversial anti-conversion bill recently passed by the State Assembly.
Ms Karat alleged that such a bill could be used as an instrument of terror by the BJP government to harass the minority communities.
The CPI(M) leader had a short conversation with mediapersons before leaving for the tribal district of Panchmahals.
She also criticised the BJP government for poor public health facilities. The government was not taking action against erring doctors in foeticide cases in Gujarat, she alleged.
The state government's move to hand over government hospitals to private parties was against the Constitution and her party would strongly object to them as it could adversely affect the public health in general, she added.
