BJP supports Shiv Sena on cricket issue
Mumbai, Oct 17 (UNI) Maharashtra BJP president Nitin Gadkari has supported the stand taken by its ally Shiv Sena chief Bal Thckeray for boycotting the Indo-Pakistan cricket match here.
''Against the backdrop of 7/11 serial train blasts in Mumbai it is not proper to have a match between India and Pakistan,'' Mr Gadkari said.
BJP vice president Venkaiah Naidu, who was in the city, also said that this was not the atmosphere for having a cricket match with the neighbouring country and this was not the proper time also.
If India and Pakistan both reach in the final in the ongoing Champions trophy, they are expected to play in the state capital and Mr Thackeray has asked to boycott the same match.
