Bangladeshi inmate dies in prison

Mumbai, Oct 17 (UNI) A Bangladeshi inmate died at Byculla prison in south central Mumbai here, police sources said today.

Ms Leepi Masinoor Sheikh (29), arrested on charge of illegally staying in India by the Kalamboli police in Navi Mumbai on August 13, was shifted to Byculla prison on August 20, police sources said here today.

It was at Byculla prison that the undertrial began vomitting and fell unconscious yesterday. She was rushed to the state-run J J Hospital, where the doctors declared her dead before admission.

Jail authorities have intimated about the undertrial's death to Kalamboli police, sources added.
