Bajrang Dal to press for Afzal's hanging

Nagpur, Oct 17 (UNI) Bajrang Dal will stage protests all over Vidarbha for three days from tomorrow to protest the demand for clemency to Mohammed Afzal, who has been sentenced to death in the Parliament attack case.

Addressing a press conference here today, Bajrang Dal Vidarbha Unit Convenor Amol Thakre said protests would be staged at the tehsil level at 125 places across the region on October 18 and 19.

On October 20, Bajrang Dal would stage a 'symbolic hanging' of Afzal at all the tehsil hqs in Vidarbha, Thakre said.

During the agitation, activists would also pay tributes to the security personnel killed while thwarting the attack on Parliament, he said.

Thakre said the organisation had sent a letter to President A P J Abdul Kalam asking that Afzal be hanged as directed by the court.
