Attempt to rape accused acquitted in HP

Dharamshala, Oct 17 (UNI) A local court in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh today acquitted a Tibetan youth accused of attempting to rape a Belgium tourist for lack of evidence.

Tenzin Dorjee was accused of attempting to rape Belgium tourist, Sarah Wery, during her stay at a local guesthouse on August 25, 2005.

Police had registered a case under sections 376 and 511 of the IPC after Wery lodged a complaint against Dorjee.

The court acquitted Dorjee after the prosecution failed to produce enough evidences against him in the case.
