APSPCB concerned over pollution in Arunachal
Itanagar, Oct 17 (UNI) The Arunachal Pradesh State Pollution Control Board (APSPCB) today expressed great dismay over increasing pollution scenario in the state..
APSPCB chairman Sunjoy Tassar urged deputy commissioners and the departments concerned to take necessary actions over this vital issue.
He said the method of urban solid waste disposal at the Capital Complex was being carried out without segregation, which was hazardous for human beings and domestic animals.
He further demanded for relocation of the urban solid waste here saying that the present site was not suitable from environmental perspective.
Mr Tassar advocated the the need of master plan for proper domestic and commercial sewarage and directed to establish Common Effluent Treatment Plant (CETP).
'' Sewerage system of the Capital Complex is under serious threat as diseases and epidemics normally break during the monsoon,'' The chairman suggested that hotels, automobile servicing stations, metal works units, poultry and abbatoirs should abide by the pollution board norms.
Expressing serious concern over non-biodegradable wastes Mr Sunjoy urged the district administration and urban development department to make use of the plastic wastes in collaboration with the APSPCB.
