Animal Husbandry officer nabbed while accepting bribe in Beed
Beed, Maharashtra, Oct 17 (UNI) The Anti-Corruption-Bureau (ACB) sleuths today caught inflagrante delicto district's Deputy Commissioner of Animal Husbandry department -- Dr S N Chitte, while accepting a bribe of Rs 2,000 from a contractor.
According to the ACB sources, Dr Chitte had allegedly demanded bribe of Rs 5,000 for sanctioning a transportation bill of Rs 25,000, from the contractor Sheikh Mehraj Sheikh Ismail.
Acting on a tip off, the ACB sleuths laid a trap for the officer, in his office, and nabbed him while accepting bribe of Rs 2,000, which was the first installment of the total amount he had demanded from the contractor, the sources said.
ACBs Deputy Superintendent of Police (DYSP) G D Kolekar informed that the animal husbandry officer has been booked under various sections of the ACB act. The officer has been detained and the ACB team has launched a search operation to locate his assets, the sources said.
