69 lakh tonnes paddy arrivesin Punjab 'mandis'

Chandigarh, Oct 17 (UNI) A total of 69.34 lakh tonnes of paddy has arrived in various 'mandis' of Punjab till yesterday evening, Food and Supplies Minister Lal Singh stated here today.

Giving details of procurement, the Minister said that 14.14 lakh tonnes had been procured by Pungrain, 12.22 lakh tonnes by Markfed, 14.87 tonnes by Punsup, 6.83 lakh tonnes by Punjab State Warehousing Corporation and 7.75 lakh tonnes by Punjab Agro Industries Corporation.

In addition, FCI had procured 1.90 lakh tonnes and 11.60 lakh tonnes was purchased by the private millers in the state.
