Vanilco forays into consumer market, launches two products

Kochi, Oct 16 (UNI) In a bid to popularise natural vanilla extracts, Vanilco, a company wholly owned by vanilla farmers, here today launched two products -- Vanilla Supreme Ice-cream and Vanicolada.

Addressing media Vanilco Managing Director Paul Jose said the products made out of natural extracts was good for health compared to synthetic vanilla products.

He said the premium-brand Vanilco Ice-creams would be available in one, five, 10 and 20 litre packs.

Vanicolada syrup was a natural vanilla pinenapple mix used to make various cocktail drinks, Mr Jose said.

He said the government should chalk out a policy to make natural vanilla extracts mandatory in all related products.

Mr Jose also urged the Union Commerce Ministry to regulate the import of synthetic vanilla products into the country.

Kochi-based Vanilco is the first producer company registered in the country by 2500 vanilla farmers and is engaged in procuring and processing qiality natural vanilla beans as per international standards.
