V P Singh no more doubts Singur land acquisition : CM
Kolkata, Oct 16 (UNI) The agricultural model being followed in Westengal should be emulated by the entire nation, former Prime Minister Viswanath Pratap Singh told Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee.
Speaking to newsmen here tonight, the Chief minister said he had a long telephotic talk with the former Prime minister this evening during which he "cleared" all his doubts regarding the acquisition of multiple crop land for Tata's small car project in Singur will be resolved by him.
'' I had a long telephonic talk with him and discussed about his letter, '' the Chief Minister said adding he had not only been able to clear all his doubts but had also been able to convinve him about the utility of the agricultural policy being followed by the state government for the benefit of farmers.
As a result Mr Singh had felt that the same policy should be followed by every other state and in the entire nation, the Chief Minister quoting the former Prime Minister said.
Incidentally Mr Singh had recently written a lengthy letter to Mr Bhattacherjee expressing his strong reservations about the state government stance on the acquisitioin of farm land for the industry.
