UP advisor: SC regrets the ongoing controversy in UP

New Delhi, Oct 16 (UNI) The Supreme Court today described as 'unfortunate' the ongoing controversy between the two high constitutional functionaries of the state of Uttar Pradesh namely the state Governor and Allahabad high court Chief Justice in regard to the repatriation of Governor's legal advisor Mr P K Dubey to the state judiciary.

Dubey is on deputation in the Governor Secretariat for the last 12 years and the Governor has refused to relieve his trusted law officer despite the order from the high court to appoint him as district judge.

A bench comprising Chief Justice Y K Sabharwal and Justices C K Thakker and Altamas Kabir while fixing October 19 as the date for hearing of the case said "we don't approve of such controversy".

The high court had taken exception to the tone and tenor of the language used by the Governor T V Rajeshwar during the correspondence with the high court Chief Justice.

The high court has already placed Dubey under suspension for not reporting to his new appointment.

The apex court had earlier appealed and requested to the two high constitutional funtionaries to resolve the controversy amicably.
