Two leading South African designers to present at LFW
Mumbai, Oct 16 (UNI) Two leading South African designers will for the first time present their collection on the Indian catwalk at Lakme Fashion week (LFW) spring/summer 2007 scheduled from October 31 to November 4 at NCPA in Mumbai.
South African tourism is proud to bring leading designer Clive Rundle and designer brand Sun Goddess to the Indian audience, a release said.
Lance Littlefield, Country Head, India- South African tourism on the occasion said,''We are very pleased to be associated with LFW and bring to India two of South Africa's leading designers. Clive is known for his exquisite designs, brilliant constructions and intricate structure. The creations of Sun Goddess represent a modern interpretation of fashion using African themes.
''Both are at the two ends of the fashion spectrum very creatively different and try showcasing the diversity of South Africa. Their presence is a classic example of South African style meets Bombay Chic. I am sure their participation at LFW will enrich the already vibrant fashion scenerio in Mumbai'', he added.
Anil Chopra, Vice-President, Lakme Lever said,'' After announcing our association with French designers LFW takes pride in announcing the names of the South African designers and look forward to their collection this season. LFW has been created and conceived with an aim to integrate India into the global fashion world by providing opportunities to the Indian designers to showcase their talent abroad.'' ''Other outstanding examples of globalising Indian fashion were LFW designers Narendra Kumar, Nandita Mahatani and Sonam Dubal presenting at Rosemount Australian Fashion week and Sabyasachi Mukherjee at Olympus Fashion Week in New York this year,''he said.
