Two killed, several injured in road accidents

Kohima, Oct 16: Two people were killed and several injured in separate road accidents in Nagaland.

One person was killed and three others were injured when the vehicle, in which they were travelling from Dimapur to Kohima, skidded off the road and rolled down a 200 foot deep gorge near Piphema on National Highway 39 last evening.

Local people and Assam Rifles jawans from a nearby camp recovered the body. The injured were sent to hospital.

In another incident yesterday, a handyman of a truck was killed when the truck collided with another vehicle near Dimapur town. Four children travelling another vehicle were also injured. They were rushed to hospital.

In a separate incident in Kohima, about ten people were injured in a bus accident. One of them was in serious condition with multiple bone fractures. He was immediately rushed to Nagaland Hospital. The others were released after being administered first aid.
