Tripura govt rejects cbi inquiry into online lottery

Agartala, Oct 16 (UNI) Tripura government has rejected demands of the Opposition Congress for CBI inquiry into the irregularities of online lottery in the state.

Announcing ban of the online lottery, state Finance Minister Badal Chowdhury today said, ''A defamation case has been filed against Congress leader Ratan lal Nath for misleading people by spreading malicious propoganda. Mr Nath had demanded ban of online lottery to stop irregularities.'' Tripura government had launched online lottery on February 4 last year and Videocon International was running it.

The Finance Minister said there was no need of CBI inquiry and agreed to look into the online lottery accounts.
