Tata Motors forays into Ghana with passenger range

New Delhi, Oct 16: Automobile major Tata Motors today launched its passenger vehicles -- the Indica Hatchback, the Indigo sedan, the Indigo Station Wagon, the Sumo and the Safari Dicor-- in Ghana.

'' We are confident that the passenger vehicle range will be seen to offer superior value to customers in Ghana. Over the coming years, we are positive that Tata Motors will grow there and hope to obtain a significant share of the new car market,'' said Divyendu Kumar, Head - International Business, Passenger Car Business Unit, Tata Motors.

The distribution and marketing of Tata passenger vehicles in Ghana will be handled by Tata Ghana and PHC Motors Ltd, which also distributes Tata Motors' commercial vehicles, Mr Kumar added.

He said sales dealerships are presently set up at Accra, Kumasi and Tamale, adding that plans are underway to establish service centres in 10 more cities covering all geographical areas by next year in order to ensure high levels of product performance and customer satisfaction.

Tata Motors is already present in Ghana with its commercial vehicles, which were launched in 1974 and have been well received in the market.

In South Africa, the largest market in the continent, the Tata brand is one of the fastest growing in the history of the country's automobile market.
