SSLC paper leak: CBI raids Sanu's home

Kochi, Oct 16 (UNI) The CBI recovered money and certain electronic goods from the home of Deputy Director of Education V Sanu, arrested in connection with the SSLC question paper leak case on October 13.

Investigating Officer P K Einstein said in a release today that raids were conducted yesterday following Sanu stating that he received Rs 2.8 lakh from Rajan Chacko, an accused in the case.

The investigating agency recovered Rs two lakh and electronic gadgets like digital video camera and DVD home theatre from Sanu's home and these were produced in the CBI special court today.

The CBI had also arrested former superintendent and secretary of SSLC Pareeksha Bhavan, C P Vijayan Nair and S Raveendran respectively for manipulating tenders in awarding contracts for printing question papers during the period 2002 to 2005.

Raveendran and Vijayan admitted to have received Rs 15 lakh and Rs 50,000 respectively from Chacko, according to the release.

The interrogation of the arrested revealed the involvement of public servants in the conspiracy, the release added.
