Sipat plant to start generation in June 07
Bilaspur, Oct 16 (UNI) The National Thermal Power Corporation's Sipat Super Power Plant will start generation of 500 MW electricity in June next year.
The Sipat plant's second 500 MW unit will start production six months later, according to Project General Manager Vinod Sharma.
The plant's three units of 660 MW each will also start production in 2008 and 2009 taking the total generation capacity to 2980 MW entailing total expenditure of Rs 12,363 crore.
Mr Sharma told reporters that the Grid Corporation of India was installing 765 KV grid for the first time in the country to transfer power generated from the super critical technology power station.
The South Eastern Coalfields Ltd will start supplying 10 lakh tonnes coal from January next year as the thermal station will require 1.50 crore tonnes coal annually.
