Senior Ramkrishna Mission Monk dies

Purulia, Oct (UNI) Swami Sattwananda Maharaj, a senior monk of Ramkrishna Math and Mission, died at Varanasi last night. He was 93.

He was also known as 'Satyen Maharaj'.

He was the Secretary of Karimganj (Assam) Mission. He served Ramkrishna mission Sevashram (Varanasi) for 14 years (1974 to 1988).

Swami Sudhabratanandaji Maharaj, the present Secretary of Ramakrishna Mission Sevashram, today said the Maharaj's last rite as per the Monastic's tradition at Kashi was performed this afternoon by drowning his body into the Ganga.
