RGU to get new VC

Itanagar, October 16 (UNI) Asom University Vice-Chancellor (VC) Subhash Chandra Saha has taken charge of Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU) here in the same capacity.

University sources told UNI here yesterday that the Union Human Resource Development ministry had proposed Saha's name for RGU's VC, the post which was lying vacant since July last following retirement of former VC.

Mr Saha had sent his letter of acceptance to Rajiv Gandhi University on Thursday in response to the HRD ministry's slection.

However, it is expected that Mr Saha would join his new assignment in November first week.
