Puttur records 7 cm rain
Bangalore, Oct 16 (UNI) Following is a summary of observations recorded by the Weather Office here at 0830hrs today.
South-west monsoon has further withdrawn from entire North Interior Karnataka and parts of Uttara Kannada district of Coastal Karnataka. Monsoon was weak over South interior Karnataka.
Rainfall occurred at a few places over Coastal Karnataka and at isolated places over Interior Karnataka.
Puttur recorded heavy rainfall of 7 cms.
Other chief amounts of rainfall(cm): Siddapura 5, Karkala, Ponampet, Virajpet 4 each, Dharmasthala 3, Sulya 2, Bhatkal, Londa, Yeragatti, K.R.Pet, Malavalli 1 each. Maximum temperatures changed little over the State. They were above normal at most places being appreciably so at a few places over Coastal Karnataka, appreciably above normal at many places South Interior Karnataka and above normal at a few places over North Interior Karnataka.
Minimum temperatures Changed little over the State. They were above normal at a few places over North Interior Karnataka and were normal over Coastal Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka.
Bellary recorded the highest maximum temperature of 35.7 deg.
Celsius and Dharwad recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 19.9 deg. Celsius over the State.
Forecast valid until Wednesday morning: Rain/thundershowers likely to occur at isolated places over Coastal Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka. Mainly dry weather may prevail over North Interior Karnataka.
Farmers Weather Bulletin: Light to moderate rain likely to occur at isolated places over Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Kodagu, Chikmagalur, Mundagod, Mysore, Chamarajnagara and Shimoga districts.
Mainly dry weather will prevail over remaining districts of the State.
Local forecast: Partly cloudy. Light rain likely in some areas.
Maximum and minimum temperatures would be around 31 deg. Celsius and 20 deg. Celsius respectively.
