One killed, 2 injured as assailants attack house

Bellary, Karnataka, Oct 16 (UNI) One woman was killed and two persons were seriously injured when a group of assailants attacked them at their house in Sathyanarayana Pet here today.

Additional Superintendent of Police C Rajappa said the assailants, who came in three vehicles, barged into the house of jeweller Gavisiddappa and attacked the trio with knives and iron rods.

While Gavisiddappa's daughter-in-law Lakshmi succumbed to injuries on the way to the hospital, Gavisidappa and his wife Lakshmamma were admitted to VIMS hospital in a serious condition.

However, his son Nagesh managed to escape from the attack.

The reason for the attack was yet to be ascertained, he said.
