Metropolitan alleges attack on church

Kochi, Oct 16 (UNI) Metropolitan Thomas Mar Athanaciose today alleged that members of the Jacobite group had attacked Vicar K K Varghese and devotees at the St George Orthodox Church at Kattiparrathadom in Idukki district.

Talking to reporters here, he said some miscreants barged into the church yesterday and attacked the Vicar and devotees, injuring them.

He alleged that the attack took place in the presence of the local RDO and ADM.

The government should investigate and bring the culprits to book, he urged.

The Church administered by the Metropolitan since 1990 comes under the Kandanadu diocese.
