Jharkhand governor Razi urges to control AIDS
Ranchi, Oct 16: Jharkhand Governor Syed Sibte Razi said participation of all sections of the society is needed to fight against the menace of Aids.
Speaking about the adversities of HIV/AIDs in a programme organised at Rajbhawan here yesterday, Mr Razi said the disease has emerged as a challenge and it could be checked only by self-control and self-discipline.
Mr Razi said awareness in the society must be created regarding the disease.
He said about 4.03 crore people were affected by this disease and half of them were females adding 52 lakh people were affected of this disease only in India.
Mr Razi said about 30 lakh people had died of it throughout the world in the year 2005.
He said in Jharkahand the number of HIV victims were 1035.
