Jain Sadhvi disappears under mysterious circumstances
Nagpur, Oct 16 (UNI) The police are investigating the mysterious disappearance of a Jain ''Sadhvi'' from her living quarters in Amravati yesterday amid claims that she was ''miraculously'' incinerated in her living quarters.
Discounting the miracle theory, Deputy Commissioner of Police P T Patil said the ashes found in Sadhvi Siddhashri's room had been sent to the forensic laboratory in Nagpur. Siddhashri was aged about 21.
As of now, the police had no clues about what had happened and had registered a case of accidental death, he said.
A heap of ash was found in Siddhashri's room yesterday by another cleric. Followers claimed she had been burnt to death, but mysteriously, nothing else in the room was damaged, not even the carpet on which the heap of ash was found.
The Sadhvi was from Rajasthan and had been inducted into the order about seven years ago. A police team has left for her hometown to investigate.
