Indore wrestler bags bronze in US

Indore, Oct 16 (UNI) Local talent and Arjuna awardee Kripa Shankar bagged the bronze medal at the Sunkist Kids International Open Wrestling Tournament underway in Phoenix, Arizona.

In the fight for third spot in the 55 kg freestyle category, Kripa yesterday vanquished Leon K Bred Peteki from France.

''Kripa defeated opponents in five stages to take a semifinal berth,'' said Indore Wrestling Association Secretary Umesh Patel.

The wrestler is undergoing special training in the United States.
