Indonesian FA seeks government investment to co-host Cup

SINGAPORE, Oct 16 (Reuters) The Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) has asked its government for almost 4 million dollar to help organise next year's Asian Cup.

Fifteen billion rupiah (1.63 million dollar) of the fund would be used to prepare Indonesia's national team, the Asian Football Confederation's Web site reported today.

Indonesia are co-hosting the Asian Cup along with Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam from July 7-29.

''The fund is large as Indonesia will organise the matches for the competition, one for the quarter-final and the final,'' PSSI secretary general Nugraha Besoes told a plenary session of a parliamentary body dealing with sports and education, Commission X,'' the Web site said.
