HSBC begins four-day 'Helping Hands Mela'

Mumbai, Oct 16 (UNI) The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited (HSBC) started its annual 'Helping Hands Mela' begining from today to 2Oth of this month here.

According to HSBC release, local Non Government Organisations (NGOs)&communities will be invited to visit HSBC branches across the country to display their products, arts and craft designs for sale.

Subsequently, the proceeds of the sales will go towards supporting a charitable cause in communities, where the NGO has a presence. In addition, HSBC employees will interact closely with NGOs and understand the issues facing the communities around them.

The Mela being held for the sixth successive year at 46 branches across 25 cities in the country, will have over 100 NGOs having community work profiles such as child welfare, tribal development, rural development etc, said the release.

The HSBC group is one of the largest banking and financial services organisation in the world having 46 branches in 25 cities in India itself. The bank is involved in community welfare in each of the countries it has operations through philanthrophy and sponsorship.
