Haryana delivers over 17,000 tonne rice to Central pool

Chandigarh, Oct 16 (UNI) Haryana has delivered 17,047 tonnes of rice to the Central Pool so far this season as against 1974 tonnes during the corresponding period last year.

Deputy Chief Minister Chander Mohan said that out of the total rice delivered by Haryana to the Central Pool so far , the six Government procuring agencies had delivered 11,749 tonnes of rice while the remaining 5,298 tonnes was delivered by the private traders and millers.

He said the Food and Supplies Department had delivered 5,096 tonnes of rice, followed by Hafed with 2,815 tonnes, Food Corporation of India 1640 tonnes, Confed 1518 tonnes and Haryana Agro-Industries Corporation and Haryana Warehousing Corporation with 340 tonnes each.
