'Force 10 Networks' to expand its R
Chennai, Oct 16: 'Force 10 Networks', a pioneer in building and securing high performance networks, will expand its Research and Development Centre in the city.
Talking to reporters here today, company Vice-President, Engineering, Sachi Sambandan and Asia-Pacific Vice-President Gary W Jackson said Force 10 would increase its head count to 150 from the present 90 as part of its expansion plans.
Over the last year, the company continued to develop its R and D Centre as a base for strategic engineering support that would help in delivering more complete end-to-end networking solutions to its customers, he said.
''As we expand our product portfolio to broaden our market focus, the talent of the Chennai team will be a crucial component to our success in moving forward in developing next generation products, that included Force 10 S-series family of access switches and P-series security appliances.
Stating that India, especially Chennai was one of the crucial market for the company's growth in Asia Pacific region, he said the geographical location and the same time zone provided the company a very big advantage.
The Technical Assistance Centre in the city would come out with more products that included extension of the existing products and totally new ones.
''With a growing number of global customers and deployments, the Chennai centre is critical to supporting customers' service and support needs in real time'', Mr Sambandan said.
