Ex-DGP case: HC quashes order

Indore, Oct 16 (UNI) The Indore bench of the Madhya Pradesh High Court today quashed a lower court's order for registering a criminal case against the then director-general of police Swaraj Puri for allegedly bypassing rules while securing admission for his son in a local engineering college.

Justice H S Dwivedi quashed the September 15 order that directed registering of the case after Shreyas was admitted through the Non-Resident Indians' quota.

Mr Puri had filed a revision petition. In the wake of the September 15 order, a case was registered by the state Economic Offences Wing and Mr Puri was transferred as DG (Home Guard).
