Doctor couple electrocuted in city

Chennai, Oct 16: A doctor couple was electrocuted to death in their residence at K K Nagar in the city last night, police said here today.

According to police, Dr Kalpana employed in a private hospital, while taking a bath was electrocuted due to an electrical leak in a steel hosepipe attached to the water tap.

As Kalpana did not come out from the bathroom for a long time, her husband Dr Umasankar, working in the railway hospital, Perambur, broke open the door and entered the bathroom. He, too, was electrocuted, police said.

On information, police rushed to the spot and sent the bodies to the Government Royapettah hospital for a post-mortem.
