Cultural pageantry to mark MP golden jubilee

Bhopal, Oct 16: A week-long cultural pageantry comprising dance ballet, Kathak dance, folk dance, Kawwali, gazal singing, classical music and Kavi sammelan will be organised here from October 30 to mark the golden jubilee of the formation of Madhya Pradesh.

The cultural programmes will be held at different venues including at Vidhan Sabha premises and Motilal Nehru stadium, Culture Minister Laxmikant Sharma told reporters here today.

BJP MP and actor Hema Malini along with 45 artistes will stage dance ballet ''Droupadi''. Flute recital by Ronu Majumdar, Gazal singing by Talat Aziz, classical music by Parveen Sultana and Sarod recital by Vishwajit Roy Choudhary will also be organised.

Fold music, Kavi Sammelan and dance ballet will be staged at Assembly premises, Mr Sharma said.

Folk dancers from Bihar, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Assam, Manipur, Sikkim, Gujarat and Chhattisgarh, besides Madhya Pradesh will perform on November 2.
