CPI(Maoist) hardcore ultra arrested in steel town

Bokaro, Oct 16 (UNI) Police today arrested a CPI(Maoist) cadre of woman wing from Dania railway station in Jharkhand's Bokaro district.

Suprintendent of Police Manvinder Singh Bhatia said acting on a tip off police laid a trap in the station and arrested the hardcore ultra identifed as Sabita alias Bano.

Mr Singh said after interrogation she admitted her involvement in more than 12 operations in the region. She also focussed on some clues for which the police were conducting raids.

In another raid, police unearthed a 30kg landmine measuing eight feet long and four feet wide from Pilpolo Marg under Nawadih police station area in the steel town.

Mr Singh said the landmine was defused by the anti-bomb squad.

He said the Moaist extremists were under pressure and retreating from the region after police and CRPF in joint raids destroyed some hideouts in the Jhumra Hills.
