Court initiates process against Sahara Airlines
Mumbai, Oct 16 (UNI) A local court today initiated a process against the Manager, Chairman and Managing Director of the Sahara Airlines on a complaint by a businessman for allegedly committing criminal breach of trust.
Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate M H Belosay said in his brief order here that after considering the averments made in the complaint by Mr Virendra Kumar Gupta and documents, which were collected during the investigation, it is crystal clear that a prima facie case was made out against the three accused.
Hence, the process has been initiated against all the three under Sections 406 (criminal breach of trust), 420 (cheating and dishonesty), read with 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
Meanwhile, the Magistrate has adjourned the matter till December four for further hearing.
Advocate V D Upadhyay, representing Mr Gupta, stated in the complaint that the accused had come out with a scheme according to which passengers had to pay extra charges on tickets to get a coupon and the winner among them will get the ticket of the 'World Tour.' His client was one of the winners but till date the Sahara Air lines failed to provide the facility to the winner in spite of several letters written to the authorities by him.
Mr Upadhyay further stated that as per the scheme called 'fly and gain', the complainant is one of the winners of the coupon of the World tour, the accused were responsible to provide tickets of following city's of world: Delhi, Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg and France.
