Counting of votes for Madurai Cent Assembly seat tomorrow

Chennai, Oct 16 (UNI) Counting of votes polled in the by-election to Madurai Central Assembly constituency, will be taken up at 0800 hrs tomorrow.

The counting of votes held in the by-election on October 11, would be taken up at the Madurai Medical College, Bio-Chemistry Hall, Ground Hall, an official release here said.

The by-poll was caused by the death of senior DMK leader P T R Palanivel Rajan. The ruling DMK, the opposition AIADMK and the Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam candidates, were among others, fighting for honours.

Only those agents holding photo identity cards would be allowed inside the counting halls, the official release said adding barricades would be provided for the counting table in such a way that process of counting was transparent to the counting agents.

All reasonable facilities will be provided to enable the counting agents to observe the whole counting process, it added.
