Case registered against 4 persons for selling confidential data
Hyderabad, Oct 16 (UNI) Receiving a complaint from National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) Regional Director S V Ramachandran, the City Cyber Crime Police registered a case against four persons who allegedly sold confidential data on British nationals in a sting operation carried out by Britain's Channel 4 television.
According to police they had registered a case under Section 66 of the Information Technology Act. They prepared photographic images of the suspects and was hunting for them in the city.
As per the complaint, the channel's undercover journalist met four Hyderabadies in a star hotel six months ago. The channel claimed that those persons sold personnel and confidential information of UK citizens, that they had allegedly obtained from BPOs in the city.
The four persons were caught on camera and they said that they could get information on UK bank customers by paying a dollar per name.
