Burglars decamp with ornaments, cash from house

Tiruchirapalli, Oct 16 (UNI) Unidentified burglars struck at the house of a wealthy man and made away with gold ornaments, cash and costly silk sarees worth more than Rs three lakh at EB colony in the city, early today.

Police said the inmates were away from the house when the incident occurred. The burglars entered the house by breaking the rear doors and removed 30 sovereigns of golden jewellery, Rs 10,000 cash and ten costly silk sarees from the steel almirah.

The broken almirah was found in the kitchen of the house.

On a complaint from Rockpellar, an auditor and house owner, who returned home this morning, the K K Nagar police registered a case in this connection.
