Blast wounds three in Afghan capital

KABUL, Oct 16 (Reuters) At least three people were wounded when an explosion went off on a major road in the Afghan capital, Kabul, today, residents said.

There were conflicting reports about the cause of the blast. A private television channel said it was a suicide attack, but several residents said it was a car bomb.

Police had no immediate comment about the blast, close to a school on the main road linking the US embassy to the city's airport. Dozens of people have been killed in suicide attacks in Kabul in recent weeks.
