Biscuit gang strikes in Haryana train, loots five passengers

Ambala, Oct 16 (UNI) The 'biscuit gang', notorious for drugging its victims with drug-laced biscuits, looted five Bihar migrant labourers of thousands of hard-earned rupees in the Jan Nayak Express train last night, police today said.

The victims had boarded the train from Amritsar to Gorakhpur.

When the train arrived at Ambala Cantonment station, the Railway Protection Force found the five persons in an unconscious state and admitted them in the civil hospital here.

One of the victims, Ram, on gaining partial consciousness, told the police that he, along with four other fellow villagers was on his way to their native home when some persons befriended them and offered biscuits.

He said he was relieved of his paddy harvesting earnings worth Rs 4700 kept in the suitcase, adding that his companions were also looted but could not give account of their money.

The doctors attending the victims, stated that they had not gained consciousness but were recovering slowly.

The criminals operating mostly in Bihar-bound trains become active to entrap their victims on way to their homes with their savings and earnings after conclusion of crop harvesting, to celebrate the Chhath festival.
