Altogether 13 nominations filed for Koderma LS bypoll

Ranchi, Oct 16 (UNI) Altogether 20 aspirants filed their nomination papers for the November six Koderma Parliamentary byelection.

Official sources here said 13 candidates filed their nomination papers on the last day today.

Filing of nominations began on October 9.

Scrutiny would take place on October 17 and the last date of withdrawal is October 19.

The Koderma Parliamentary seat was lying vacant after former Chief Minister Babulal Marandi resigned from the membership of BJP and the Lok Sabha a few months back.

The BJP had fielded Pranav Verma, who recently joined the party.

Mr Verma is the son of late Reetlal Verma, who represented Koderma five times, while the Congress fielded Manoj Kumar Yadav, an MLA from Barhi.
