'Aishwarya' opens Longines boutique
Chennai, Oct 16: Brand ambassador of 'Longines', the prestigious Swiss watch manufacturer and actor Aishwarya Rai inaugurated an exclusive boutique exhibiting unique diamond timepiece at the five star ITC Park Sheraton&Towers here today.
Speaking on the occasion Regional Manager Asia Pacific for Longines Claude Jaunin and International Head of Marketing Penelope Vincent-Trechot said Chennai was a key market and offered immense potential for Longines in India.
The boutique will display an exclusive diamond BelleArti timepiece with 1162 diamonds on the bracelet and 23 diamonds on the case, all worth 9.26 carats.
Inaugurating the boutique Aishwarya said Longines personified timeless beauty and elegance to her and every wearer of the brand endorses this.
Later, in brief interaction with newspersons, Aishwarya said as an actress she was happy to be associated with Chennai and said she was confident that her latest film venture down South, celebrated Director Maniratnam's "Guru" would be received well.
She said it was a film being made by two talented filmakers with whom she had worked with already in "Iruvar" also directed by Maniratnam and "Kandukonden, Kandukonden" directed by Rajiv Menon.
Now Rajiv Menon is photographing Maniratnam's "Guru", she said.
Saying that she cherished her association with Chennai, Aishwarya also recalled that she had acted in a couple of Tamil films at the beginning of her film career like Shankar's "Jeans" , besides "Iruvar".
